- Automation policy
- A rule with constraints, such as time, state of charge, or price, and the device actions that follow. Evaluated in priority order.
- Default automation policy
- A read-only template from Gridkeeper. Copy the logic into your own policy to use it.
- Price point
- A tariff or time window used by Advanced Mode.
- Grid feed
- One physical supply from the street. A site can have more than one. The retailer plan sits on the feed.
- Discovered device
- Hardware found through a platform sync. It is not controlled until you add it to the site.
- Platform integration
- The connection to a vendor cloud, such as Sungrow, Tuya, or Sensibo, used to discover and control hardware.
- OCPP
- The protocol an EV charger uses so Gridkeeper can run the session. You add the charge point ID and the WebSocket URL.
- Storm Mode
- A timed resilience bias in Basic Mode: charge the battery high and pause discretionary loads, then revert.
- Self-sufficiency
- The share of site consumption met by on-site generation and storage.
- Carbon-aware
- Prefer cleaner grid hours when the extra cost stays inside the limit you set.
- Wholesale retailer
- A plan priced from the spot market, such as Amber or Local Volts. It needs API credentials on the grid feed.
- VPP
- A virtual power plant. An operator runs many sites’ batteries, chargers, and loads for a grid service.
- Cohort
- A saved set of Watchtower clients or sites that a rule or an event can target.
- Global automation
- A Watchtower rule with a scope, conditions, and actions, evaluated across the fleet.
- Compliance
- Whether a Watchtower client can be controlled, based on their agreement and documents.
- Billing hold
- A temporary block on Watchtower control because an invoice is overdue.
- Bands
- Device ranges, such as an inverter between 5 and 8 kW, used to target a fleet rule.
